Hi, I’m Romy Peniche — a Video Editor, Creative Producer, Director, Designer, and Actress originally from Mexico City and based in the U.S.
Storytelling has been the thread connecting everything I do. My career began in graphic design and advertising before expanding into film and television, where I found myself working on both sides of the camera — producing, directing, editing, designing, and performing.
That multidisciplinary background shapes the way I approach every project. As an editor, I bring a producer’s instinct for story, a director’s understanding of performance, and a designer’s eye for composition and visual detail. As a producer and director, I understand how all those elements come together from concept through final delivery.
My recent work includes editing, directing, and producing content for American Honey, a beekeeping docu reality series streaming on Tubi; producing, co-writing, and co-directing El Escort que Conocí en París for ReelShort; and producing How the Gringo Stole Christmas, a Lionsgate feature that debuted #1 in its opening week.
As a performer, I have experience in film, television, theater, and voiceover, with training at The Groundlings and Lesly Kahn & Company, as well as in the Meisner Technique at Baron Brown Studio. That performance background has also become an important part of how I approach editing and directing — particularly when it comes to comedic timing, character, and finding the strongest moments in a performance.
I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing me to work naturally across both languages and cultures.
I also coach actors, sharing what I’ve learned from years of working as an actress, director, and producer to help performers strengthen their craft and navigate the industry with greater confidence.
And when I’m away from a screen or a set, I’m usually still creating. I love finding old, forgotten pieces and giving them a second life repairing, painting, and transforming them into something completely new. I guess I just really like a good before and after.
